Harley Allen, singer, songwriter and guitarist, died Drayton Ohio 3 April, aged 63. Credited with originating the 'high lonesome' style of harmony used in bluegrass music. Known in the music business as 'Red', his career spanned 40 years and included performances at Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Received a Grammy nomination this year for best bluegrass album.
