Johnny Martin, cricketer, died Taree New South Wales 16 July, aged 60. A former Australian Test cricketer, he played eight Tests and toured England, India, South Africa and New Zealand between 1961 and 1968.

Harrison Storms, aeronautical engineer, died Rancho Palos Verdes California 11 July, aged 76. An aviation and aerospace specialist, 'Stormy' designed the Mustang fighter used in the Second World War. As head of North American's Space and Information Systems division played an important role in the Apollo project to put a man on the moon.

Bob Taylor, journalist, died Milton Inverness 16 July, aged 77. Editor of the Croydon Advertiser 1950-76, he was president of the Guild of British Newspaper Editors and co-author of Essential Law for Journalists.
