Blanchette Ferry Hooker Rockefeller, philanthropist, died Briarcliff Manor NY 29 November, aged 83. Married to John D. Rockefeller III, she was a benefactor and twice president of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Helped to change it from an institution dependent on Rockefeller funds to one which attracted corporate and government support. She led a campaign enabling the museum to double its gallery space.
