Obituary: Donald MacLean
Donald MacLean, hotelier, died 1 June, aged 71. As founding Managing Director of the Parmelia Hotel, in Perth, Western Australia, he commissioned Sidney Nolan and Elisabeth Frink in 1967 to provide pieces for the hotel. Later worked as a design consultant to Forte Hotels and, from 1972, as an independent consultant, his projects including work on the QE2, the Dorchester Hotel, London, and the George V, Paris.
