Elias Motsoaledi, political activist, died Johannesburg 10 May, aged 69. Founder member of the African National Congress's guerrilla army, Umkhonto we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation). Sentenced to life imprisonment in 1964, along with Nelson Mandela and Walter Sisulu. He was released in 1989 and served on the ANC's National Executive Committee.
