Obituary: Fritz John

Fritz John, mathematician, died New Rochelle, New York 10 February, aged 83. An expert on partial differential equations, he came to the United States from Germany in 1935. Held the Courant Chair at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York, 1976-81.
