Pierre-Paul Schweitzer, financier, died 2 January aged 81. Director of the International Monetary Fund from 1963 to 1973. Appointed French Finance Inspector in 1936. Worked at the French Finance Ministry and Bank of France before joining the IMF. Head of Petrofigaz 1974-79, before becoming an adviser to Unilever.
