Robert De Niro, painter, died New York City 10 May, aged 71. Father of the actor of the same name, he studied with Hans Hoffman in the late 1930s and early 1940s. First solo exhibition was in New York City in 1946. His most recent was in 1986. Represented in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
