Sir Eric Faulkner, banker, died 8 August aged 80. Chairman of Lloyds Bank (1969-77), he oversaw its successful international merger leading to the foundation of Lloyds Bank International and the Lloyds Bank Group. Twice president of the British Bankers Association.
