Sir James Harford, colonial administrator, died 26 November, aged 94. Administrator of Antigua and Federal Secretary of the Leeward Islands 1936-40; Administrator, St Kitts-Nevis 1940-47; Colonial Secretary, Mauritius 1948-53; Governor and C-in-C, St Helena 1954-58.
