Oprah Winfrey’s annual “Favourite Things” list has been released for 2015, and as usual the media mogul’s wish-list looks pretty expensive.

The 87 item list is published in O Magazine before Christmas each year, and follows Winfrey’s tradition of choosing pricey gifts to give to loved ones.

The list includes a $500 (£324) chocolate basket weighing 20lbs, filled with chocolate and caramel-filled turtles, as well as panforte, an Italian fruit cake, costing $199 (£129) each.

Winfrey also suggests her new favourite snack - truffle potato chips. Buying someone crisps for Christmas might sound unusual but these ones cost $65 (£42) for a gift bag of six packets.

Some of the most ostentatious items include a $300 (£194) pasta making machine, a set of cheese knives costing $425 (£276), a $49 (£31) salt cellar and a six-piece stainless steel cookware set costing $449 (£291).

But if you’re trying to buy a gift for that special person in your life who already has enough cheese knives and chocolate turtles, she also recommends more universally popular gifts such as luxury headphones Beats By Dre and an iPhone 6 Plus, which cost up to £789.

Purchasing everything off the list would come to a staggering $6,428 (£4,176).

Although Winfrey, perhaps knowing most people have a slightly thriftier approach to gift-giving, offers a 20% discount on several pieces in the wish-list.

Stocking fillers are also suggested, such as a luggage tag and bottles of hot sauce, which is quite considerate given Oprah used to give audience members free cars.
