Paul McCartney tells Oasis to get back together, Noel Gallagher says 'write our comeback single and it's on'

Latest rumours have suggested Oasis will be reforming, but without Noel

Calls from fans for Noel and Liam Gallagher to bury the hatchet and reform Oasis have been cried for years, but now that Paul McCartney has joined the chorus at least one of the brothers has apparently re-considered his current position.

Two weeks ago the former Beatle had said the Gallagher brothers should “just get together and make some good music,” in a Q&A session with Japanese fans.

He had been asked whether the siblings would ever reconcile their differences, to which he replied “I don’t know,” but added that “it would be good because I think everyone likes brothers to like each other – and make up. It’s a pity because they are very good together”.

Noel Gallagher has previously spoken of his love of McCartney, calling him an "amazing dude" and a "proper geezer," and responded to McCartney’s comments, saying: “Tell him if he writes our comeback single, it’s on,” in an interview with Yahoo! Music.

Rumours that Oasis could be set to reform have been swirling for some time, but the possibility of the band coming back with its original line-up seem less and less likely. The latest suggestion is that Oasis will return but without Liam.

And the feud between the brothers looks far from being resolved after Liam called his brother “Noel Katie Hopkins Gallagher” on Twitter this month.

Noel made it clear in the Yahoo! Music interview that for the time being he is not concerned with re-joining Oasis, and would not reconsider unless he or his brother “was broke”.
