Newly released police call records show Prince was reported to the police for having a cocaine addiction in 2011.

A woman, who has not been named, contacted Carver County Sherriff’s Office in Minnesota to inform them she was “concerned about Prince’s cocaine habit”.

The caller claimed Prince had “advised her last year in Germany that he cannot control his habit and she was advised to report it”.

At the time, the police marked the case as closed because the information was a year old and the musician was not “in immediate danger”.

But a former assistant to Prince, Mariah Brown, 25, told The Associated Press that he was very healthy on Tuesday. She said she never saw him take any drugs during her period of employment.

The newly released police records reveal another unnamed woman called asking for a message to be sent to Prince “regarding a mutual son who was having open heart surgery”. But the Sherriff's office said it would not carry out “any kind of third party messaging” between the woman and the singer.

The documents also detail a woman calling hours after Prince’s shock death on April 21 claiming she had a 17-year-old son with the singer and wanted him to attend the funeral. According to reports, the sheriff’s office left a message for staff at Paisley Park estate.

The iconic singer was found dead at his Paisley Park home in Minnesota at the age of 57 almost two weeks ago. Authorities found opioid prescription medication on Prince's body and in his home and are currently investigating whether he could have died from an overdose.
