Prince sister addressed a group of fans gathered outside the late singer’s recording studio yesterday with a message for them.
The legendary singer-songwriter died on Thursday aged 57. His body was found in the lift of his Minnesota recording studio. His cause of death is not yet known, but there have been reports that he was treated for a drug overdose last week.
As news of his death broke, sending shockwaves through the entertainment world, fans begun to gather outside the Paisley Park recording studio where he died, laying bouquets and purple balloons while wearing t-shirts bearing his face.
As crowds gathered the singer’s sister Tyka Nelson came out to address them, reportedly telling them: “He loved all of you, thank you for loving him.”
His ex-wife Mayte Garcia who was married to the singer from 1996 to 2000 wrote a tribute to Prince on Instagram saying: “I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.” Garcia and Prince had a son in 1996 who tragically died a week after his birth.
The star’s shocking death is the latest to stun the entertainment world in 2016, following the likes of David Bowie and Alan Rickman.
