She might have been named after her grandfather Prince Charles, but Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana has her name in common with plenty of other famous royals throughout history.

If made Queen, the baby would become Queen Charlotte II. The first - Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz - was Queen consort to King George III. She was born into the prestigious House of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, a north German family. Coronated in 1761, she ruled alongside her husband until 1818.
