'People think a band are dull if they don't party and pick up girls'

Isaac Slade, 26, fronts The Fray, a four-piece Colorado band whose single, 'HowTo Save A Life', entered the British top five in February. Their album of the same name has since gone platinum and the band start their UK tour in Glasgow next month. Their new single, 'All At Once', was released this week

On my way to Heathrow. On the way in, we had a long wait because there was no place for my plane to fit. I think the airport needs to expand but it's important to take care of the environment and offset our emissions.

Kids. When I was a kid, I remember thinking that nobody understood me. Kids are often a lot smarter than we think.

People have this view that if a band don't party hard and pick up lots of girls they're dull, but that's not true. We all have the most amazing lives.

The most surprising thing that happened to me...

Was going to countries where people didn't speak English but knew the words to our songs. It was so cool. I felt connected with all these people I couldn't connect with in any other way.

I am not a politician but if I were...

I would give more money to musical education and try to increase funding for the homeless in Denver, my home town.

Producing. I have a film production company. I like bringing together people with different skills and getting them to work together on one project.
