The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh attend a Service of Installation of the Knights of the Thistle in St Giles' Cathedral, Edinburgh. The Princess Royal, President, the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, attends a charity race day at Lingfield Race Track, Lingfield, Surrey. The Duke of Gloucester, Honorary Colonel, the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia), visits the Regiment at their annual camp, Otterburn Training Area, Northumberland. The Duchess of Gloucester, President, the Royal Academy of Music, attends the RAM Club annual dinner, Marylebone Road, London NW1. Princess Alexandra, President, the British Red Cross Society, opens the new headquarters of the Red Cross Lancashire Branch, Preston, Lancashire; and, as Chancellor, presides at ceremonies for the conferment of degrees and honorary degrees at Lancaster University.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am.
