The Princess of Wales opens the Paula Carr Diabetes Care Centre at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford; opens the Heart of Kent Hospice at Preston Hall, Aylesford; opens the Royal Victoria Place Shopping Centre, Tunbridge Wells; and as Patron, visits West Kent Relate at Sevenoaks. The Duke of Kent opens the CT Scanner Room, Hillingdon Hospital, Pield Heath Road, Uxbridge, Middlesex; as President of the Licensed Victuallers' National Homes, opens the nursing home at Denham, Buckinghamshire; and later, as Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of England, attends the Deputy GDC Club Annual Dinner at the Guildhall, London EC2. Princess Alexandra attends the Britain in Bloom Awards Ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London W2; and opens the new Headquarters of Bacup at Rivington Street, London EC2. Prince Michael of Kent, as Patron of the Anglo-Hellenic League, unveils a Memorial Plaque to commemorate all those who fell in 1941-1945 Greek campaign, in St Sophia's Church, London W2.
