gave birth to a son, Columbus George Donald, in London on Saturday 6 August, the Office of the Duke and Duchess of Kent announced yesterday.

The Princess Royal attends the sixth International Congress of the European Association for Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh.

The State Apartments at Buckingham Palace open between 9.30am and 4.30pm. The Queen's Gallery opens between 10am and 5pm, and last admission is at 4.30pm. The Royal Mews opens between 12pm and 4pm, and last admission is at 3.30pm.

Windsor Castle

The Precincts and State Apartments at Windsor Castle open between 10am and 6pm. Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am.
