Princess Margaret names the new lifeboat at St Peter Port Harbour, Guernsey; and, as President, the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, opens the society's new centre in St Peter Port, Guernsey, and attends a reception for committee members and supporters. Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion The Royal Regiment mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Welsh Guards.
