The Duke of Edinburgh, Patron, opens the new Headquarters of the Royal National Institute for Deaf People at 19-23 Featherstone Street, London EC1; as Patron of the Shakespeare Globe Trust, visits Shakespeare's Globe, London SE1; and as President, attends the 1996 Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth's end of conference dinner at the Moat House International Hotel, Chester. The Prince of Wales officially opens the Sandwich Bay Wastewater Treatment Scheme, Weatherlees Hill Wastewater Treatment Works, near Ramsgate, Kent. The Princess Royal, President, Save the Children Fund, attends the Regional Reception at Poxwell Manor, Weymouth, Dorset; and visits Holton Lee, Poole Harbour, Dorset. The Duke of Kent, Chancellor, Surrey University, presides at the Conferment of Degrees Ceremony, Guildford Cathedral, Surrey; and as Field Marshal, attends a dinner given by the Secretary of State for Defence in honour of the US Secretary for Defense, at Apsley House, London W1.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Welsh Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Irish Guards.
