Princess Margaret opens the Beehive Nursery for the children of staff at the Falkirk and District Royal Infirmary, Falkirk, Scotland; and opens the Newhouse Business Park, Falkirk. Princess Alexandra, Patron of the Richmond Fellowship, attends a reception to mark the opening of the St Charles Project, Ladbroke Grove, at the Richmond Fellowship Headquarters, Peacock House, London W14. Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts the Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; F Company Scots Guards mounts the Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Welsh Guards.
