Sarah Michelle Gellar remembers Robin Williams in touching tribute

The much loved actor died a year ago

Sarah Michelle Gellar remembered her close friend Robin Williams on the one year anniversary of his death with a touching tribute to one of his most memorable roles in Good Will Hunting.

The actress shared an image of the bench in Boston that has become a memorial to the star after he died in an apparent suicide at the age of 63. Gellar and Williams pair were on-screen father and daughter in the CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones, which ran until April 2014, five months before his death.

It later emerged that Williams had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and may have been suffering with a form of dementia associated with the condition when he ended his life.

Gellar honoured Williams, a man she once described as “the father I always dreamed of having” with a picture of the bench and a quote from the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson.
