Scott Weiland died of an accidental overdose of cocaine, ethanol and the amphetamine MDA, a report by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office has determined.

The former Stone Temple Pilots frontman was found dead in his tour bus in Bloomington, Minnesota on 3 December. He was 48-years-old.

Cocaine was found discovered in Weiland’s bedroom and in other areas on the tour bus by police after his death.

Weiland had a well-documented history of alcohol and drug abuse throughout his life, which was noted by the medical examiner in his report.

The officer also highlighted a history of heart disease and asthma, according to The Associated Press.
