Stormzy is due to speak at Oxford University tonight, giving a lecture on success to "the UK's largest and oldest professional society."

Real name Michael Omari, Stormzy professed that the chance to speak at one of the world’s oldest and most respected universities was “an honour.”

"It's an honour to be asked to speak at such a prestigious establishment," he said.

"In school, all my teachers and my mum were super routing for me to study at Oxford, I picked music as a career choice and this didn't sit to well with them! So to be asked to come down and speak to the students there is a true tale of destiny giving you the right cards."

Watch a live stream of the lecture here:

The ‘Shut Up’ singer was invited to give a motivational talk to the Oxford Guild Society, whose membership numbers in the thousands and hosts over 80 events a year.

Abbas Kami, chairman of the society, revealed how tickets were unsurprisingly in high demand.

"We've had a phenomenal reaction from the student body so far with over 1,200 students balloting for places in under 24 hours of announcing it,” Kami said.

The same society was treated to a speech from Kanye West in March 2015.

The 20 minute speech ran to almost double that time, as he spoke about his creative process, his family and fashion among other topics.
