Trevor Noah says Donald Trump is the ‘white Isis’
The Daily Show's Trevor Noah is calling out Republican frontunner Donald Trump for his inflammatory comments aimed at Muslims.
"Take a second to think about what he said here. Republican presidential frontrunner Donald J Trump wants to ban every single person from the world's second largest religion from entering the United States of America," Noah said on Tuesday night’s show.
"Every doctor, every scientist, and even Zayn Malik. You really want to piss off One Direction fans? You want a real insurgency on your hands?"
Trump's rhetoric has been slammed by the White House, Democrats, some Republicans and leaders from around the world, still, the red-faced GOP candidate explained on Tuesday that he would instruct customs agents to simply ask folks: “are you Muslim?”
"Here's the thing about Donald Trump: Everybody has the right to be crazy. What worries me is that people are following the crazy. The worst part about this whole situation is that Donald Trump is a problem, but he's not the problem,” Noah said.
“There are people who already hold these views, and there used to be a kind of agreement between them and society that they wouldn't speak these things in public. But now Donald Trump, the frontrunner of a major political party, has basically given them permission to shed their shame and say these things out loud.”
However, Senior Political Correspondent Hasan Minhaj said that he completely agrees with Trump's ban — because America is backing a racist for president and the country is a dangerous place for Muslims to live right now.
"One-third of a major political party in America is backing a racist maniac. This place is scary right now. Donald Trump is an extremist leader who came out of nowhere, he's self-financed, recruits through social media, attracts his followers with a radical ideology to take over the world and is actively trying to promote a war between Islam and the West."
"That's right Trevor, Donald Trump is white Isis," Minhaj said.
