Mr Maurice James Carrick Allom, of Tonbridge, Kent, the former England and Surrey bowler, and President of the MCC 1969-70, left estate valued at pounds 1, 225, 443 net.

Mr Gerald Graham Haythornthwaite, of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, the architect and town planner, left estate valued at pounds 646,366 net. After personal bequests of pounds 106,000, he left the residue to the Sheffield, Peak District and South Yorkshire branch of the Council for the Protection of Rural England.
