A wounded sub-Saharan migrant is helped by others as they arrive at a Temporary Centre for Immigrants (CETI) after scaling a metallic fence that divides Morocco and the Spanish enclave of Melilla
More than 400 migrants stormed across a barbed-wire border fence in Spanish territory of Melilla, in one of the biggest crossings in nearly a decade.
About 1,000 sub-Saharans joined in the dawn attempt to enter Melilla, a tempting target for Africans desperate to reach Europe as it forms one of only two land crossings. Some were treated for "very light injuries" in a clinic at Melilla's immigration reception centre.
