A leading tourist attraction containing gardens, sporting facilities, woodland, a zoo and a funfair is to be sold. The 725-acre Trentham Gardens, near Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, is expected to fetch pounds 3m for British Coal, who bought it in the 1980s. Around 100,000 people a year visit Trentham Gardens, famous for its 85-acre lake and listed garden architecture.
