IF YOU don't ask you don't get and in the United Arab Emirates a mass prayer for rain campaign called for by the Emirates President, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, to end a punishing dry spell has ended with overcast skies and rain clouds appearing over Abu Dhabi.

Forecasters now hope the clouds will bring much-needed rain. Prayers were held in all the seven emirates earlier this week.
