CHINA REPORTED the successful launch of a weather satellite yesterday, its first space shot of the year.
The rocket carrying the Fengyun 1 weather satellite and Experiment 5 scientific survey satellite blasted off at 09.33 (02.33 BST) from Taiyuan, south-west of Peking, the Xinhua news agency said. The rocket - a Long March 4B - is a new version of the Long March 4, which had two successful launches, Xinhua said.
