WEATHER FORECASTING in Britain is still an inexact science, despite a huge investment in modern technology, the Met Office has admitted.
A run of overly optimistic forecasts in June has prompted an investigation by the Met Office. In a letter to one dissatisfied member of the public, a spokesman said: "I have every sympathy with you and indeed everybody else who has been misled by forecasts."
