UP TO 50 cars and trucks collided in the United States yesterday morning in a massive motorway pile-up that witnesses said was caused by black ice and fog.
Interstate 94 south of Detroit was shut for several miles as emergency services attended. "It seemed like the road turned to ice," an injured man told radio WWJ-AM. A woman told the station she was driving in light to medium fog when the traffic hit black ice.
