TOURISTS HAVE been told to cancel trips to the Thai holiday islands of Similan and Surin after a monsoon storm sank a ferry heading for the resorts.
Forty passengers, mostly tourists, had to be rescued by a passing ferry after their boat, bound for Similan from the mainland of southern Thailand, ran into heavy seas and driving rain. Thai authorities have asked travellers to avoid the very popular area until the monsoon storms subside
