FIRE CREWS from Avon Fire Brigade scrambled fearing the worst yesterday after they spotted a huge plume of "smoke" rising from the Avonmouth area near Bristol.
But instead of arriving at the scene of a major blaze, fire-fighters were greeted by an unusually shaped rain cloud, extending upwards from ground level. A fire brigade spokesman later blamed the embarrassing call- out on "recent odd weather conditions".
