AT LEAST nine people have been killed and 10 are missing after torrential rain flooded villages in the normally arid north of Cameroon.
Downpours last weekend swept away homes in Bamanga and other villages near Garoua. Local authorities have called for emergency supplies. of food and medicine. Several other sub-Saharan countries have also been hit. Scores of fishermen have been killed at sea off Senegal and Gambia.
