LIGHTNING STRUCK parts of southern Bangladesh yesterday, killing at least seven people. The victims included five farmers working in a rice paddy field in Fulbunia, a village in the coastal district of Bagerhat, 85 miles south-west of Dhaka.
Another two villagers died instantly and two others were taken to hospital with serious burns in Batiaghata, in neighboring Khulna district. Police did not identify the victims.
