FLASH FLOODING in Sudan's central Al-Gezira state has caused the deaths of more than 40 people after outbreaks of gastro-enteritis and fatal diarrhoea from water supplies that have been contaminated by flood water.
The floods are a result of an excessive rainy season that started in June but the recent flash flooding has also left thousands of people homeless, with the worst affected town being Managil.
