AN EYGPTIAN government working group met in Cairo over the weekend to discuss what to do about the dense and acrid smog choking the city for a fortnight.
The pollution comes from vehicle emissions, smouldering rubbish and burning agricultural and industrial waste, all intensified by a lack of wind. The environment minister has ordered 25 factories in the city which burn tyres for fuel to close.
