THE WORST floods in Nigeria's oil-producing Niger Delta for at least 30 years have left tens of thousands homeless and without food, officials said yesterday.
No deaths were recorded as a direct result of the flooding, which followed weeks of heavy rain, but officials from Rivers State, which has reported the destruction of at least 68 villages, warned that deteriorating conditions could lead to the spread of disease.
