IRELAND'S television network ran into a storm yesterday after unveiling plans to replace its regular weathermen and women. In an apparent move to glamorise forecasts, RTE said officials from Ireland's meteorological office were being dropped in favour of professional presenters.
TV3, the country's commercial TV station, last month launched its "chatty" weather presenters, who have proved a hit with viewers.
