FIERCE GALES off the coast of Norfolk forced three fishermen to call for help after their vessel started sinking yesterday.

Force nine winds meant the pumps on the Cardanel were unable to cope with incoming water and the high seas. The three men were saved after an air and sea rescue mission was launched. Three offshore vessels also responded to the Mayday call.
