Sales upby 7%

The average daily sale of the Independent rose to 291,369 last month, 7 per cent more than in April last year. The Independent on Sunday sold 5 per cent more than a year ago - rising to an average of 334,242 copies each week.

Sales of the Independent and Independent on Sunday rose by a higher percentage than any of their broadsheet competitors between March and April, according to Audit Bureau of Circulation figures released yesterday.
