Bagpipes in Space

An astronaut is believed to be the first man to play the bagpipes in space.

Nasa astronaut Kjell Lindgren performed Amazing Grace in tribute to research scientist Victor Hurst, who recently died.

Mr Lindgren played the song on the International Space Station, being a member of the Expedition 44/45 crew.

Victor Hurst, who was involved in astronaut training, died in October.

In tribute to the research scientist, Kjell Lindgren said: "He always had a quick smile, a kind word. I don't know if anyone was more enthusiastic and professional about being involved in human space flight."

Mr Lindgren has been aboard the ISS since 22 July, 2015.
