Lest one need to find out what it's like to be drunk without drinking alcohol, Harvard professor and creator of "aerosol cuisine", David Edwards has created the WAHH Quantum Sensations, a spray that intoxicates the user for a matter of seconds before sobering them up just as fast.

Its canister is designed by French design legend Philippe Starck and it releases 0.075ml of alcohol in liquid form, 1,000 times smaller than a shot of alcohol and that makes the effects instantaneous but brief, you can even pass a breathalyser test after using it.

Starck explains that "our societies and codes of amusement have led to the over-consumption of alcoholic beverages as a kind of social placebo... We asked ourselves whether we might provide the same agreeable sensation as comes with a sip of alcohol without running the risk of drunkenness."

It's set to go on sale soon for $26 (so in the meantime, why not go to the pub?).
