A man was shot dead in Belfast last night, the second killing by gunmen in the city in two days. Police said that they did not yet know whether it was a terrorist murder.
The victim, in his thirties, was shot a number of times near his home off the Lower Ormeau Road, in south Belfast. It is not known if the killing was connected to that of Francis Collins, 40, a father of five, who was shot at his chip shop in the republican New Lodge district on Monday. No organisation claimed responsibility for his killing but police blamed the IRA.
