SECRETS OF human sexual performance are revealed today by researchers who managed to obtain images of couples copulating inside a 50cm wide whole body scanner.

Researchers studying sexual arousal took pictures of the genitals of eight couples and three single women in flagrante delicto. The volunteers performed 13 times in the scanner over seven years. The results, published in the British Medical Journal, enabled the Dutch researchers to revise Masters and Johnson's famous study.

They found that the penis is the shape of a boomerang during coitus in the missionary position and during female sexual arousal, the uterus rises and the front vaginal wall lengthens.

The researchers said: "We have shown that magnetic resonance images of the female sexual response and the male and female genitals during coitus are both feasible and beautiful."
