Shot Briton `has brain damage'

A CARE worker who was shot in the heart while on holiday in Barbados has suffered brain damage, doctors said yesterday. Paula Bridges, 41 of Southwold, Suffolk, was wounded when robbers burst into a bar on the Caribbean island where she was staying with her partner John Martin, 53. She was flown back to England 11 days ago.
