The parents of a runaway teenager who travelled to Malaysia on his father's credit card told him yesterday: "We love you and want you back."

Peter Kelly, 14, disappeared from his home in South Harrow, north-west London, after his father banned him from going to watch a football match on Tuesday night.

His parents, Pat and John Kelly, fear for his safety. The aeroplane fanatic and travel enthusiast, boarded a flight to Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday night with his father's credit cards and passport. He then travelled the 200 miles to the border town of Johor Baharu.

Mrs Kelly spoke of her shock after Peter's three-minute telephone call home on Thursday night, when he told her his whereabouts and that he had run out of money. She said the family was desperately worried and didn't know where he was, or how he would get back home.

She added: "My worst fear is that someone will snatch him or someone will hurt him and we will never see him again."

Peter has gone missing before, including to France by plane.Yesterday, Malaysian police and British diplomats were combining to track him down.
