CAMBODIAN police have seized more than three tonnes of ancient statues and carvings which were about to be smuggled to neighbouring Thailand. Police seized the cache of artifacts hidden in the back of a truck in the town of Siem Reap in north-west Cambodia on Saturday. Cambodia is struggling to contain a thriving black market trade in artifacts stolen from the 12th-century Angkor temple complex, near Siem Reap. - Reuters, Phnom Penh
